about
Matteo Ciminari (me) is a composer, guitarist and theremin player.
His (mine) musical approach goes beyond the genres and in my compositions I use and rework many styles that converge in his (mine) own language.
His instrumental skills allow him (me) to move easily around jazz, blues, contemporary and avant-garde music always remembering that one important thing in music (and in life) is to have fun and improve ourselves.
My academic studies started when I was 9, attending violin lessons and finished once graduated in “Arrangement and composition for jazz ensembles” at the “G.B.Pergolesi” Conservatory in Fermo (Italy), with a Master thesis which analyzes the score (and not only) of the avant-garde jazz album “Out to Lunch” by Eric Dolphy.
My anti-academic studies began when I was born and will never end!
Over the years I have had the pleasure to study, play and share sounds with (in casual order): Mattia Borraccetti, Luca Orselli, Alessandro Apolloni, Maurizio Moscatelli, Sarah Blair, Maurizio Diomedi, Russell Prett, Stewart Brown, Andy Gray, James Boston, Gabriella Romano, Sarah Woolfenden, Neil Marsh, Nick Lowczowski, Kristian Sensini, Simone Maggio, Lydia Kavina, Andrea Bartolini, Greg Burk, Sabina Meyer, Fulvio Rusticucci, Filibero Palermini, Marco Fermani, Paolo Quilichini, David Padella, Govanni Bevilacqua, Riccaro Fassi, Michele Sperandio, Enrico Cosimi, Davide Santorsola, Giorgio Casadei, Tonino Tesei, Stefano Cantarano, Fabrizio De Rossi Re, Walter Pignotti, Vincenzo Vasi, Antonio Coatti, Diego Sapignoli, Mirko Sabatini, Giacomo Piccioni, Tiziano Castelvetro, Andrea Mei, Sergio Reggioli, Paola Perrucci, Giampaolo Stuani, Stefano Castellani, Marcello Piccinini.
